Meisterschaft Deutschen Demokratischen Republik
Rules:
1.) The championship can only
be awarded to a driver, who won at least one race or who was at
least best of the GDR drivers in one race.
2.) The title was awarded only if there were at least four
championship races in the class.
3.) Championship points were awarded only, if there were at least
five championship contenders (= GDR-drivers) in the race.
4.) Championship points award:
up to 9 GDR-drivers in the race: 6 - 4 - 3
up to 14 GDR-drivers: 6 - 4 - 3 - 2
over 14 GDR-drivers: 6 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1
5.) An additional point for fastest lap time.
6.) Two drivers equal on points were decided by the better result
at Halle.
7.) Drivers with less than 90% distance in a race get no points.
8.) Points are awarded separately for private drivers, but the
final table contains privateers and works drivers.
Champinoship Races (scheduled): Dresden, Dessau, Halle,
Sachsenring, Bernau.
Dessau was postponed after a river flooding the track.
The second Dessau was cancelled as the Autobahn was not released
for racing during the Leipzig fair.
The race at Bernau was stopped because of a fatal accident in the
simultaneously run 1500 cc sports car race, no points rewarded.
This meant, that there were only three championship races, which
were not enough to determine a champion. But an inofficial title
"DDR-Bester" was awarded to Krause.
1. Krause 6 + 7 + 6 = 19
2. Thiel 5 + 0 + 7 = 12
3. Binner 3 + 4 + 0 = 7
